Flying Fear Free

Does the mere thought of flying cause you to experience shortness of breath, heart palpitations, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, dizziness and shaking? Does it give you a panic attack? Have you lost out on a promotion or missed an important family function because you suffer from aerophobia or the fear of flying?

You are not alone. Oprah Winfrey, David Bowie, Jennifer Aniston, Billy Bob Thornton, Colin Farrell and more than twenty million other people are panicked when taking air travel. Studies have found that up to 40 percent of the population experience heightened anxiety when boarding an aircraft. Recent airline accidents and complicated security procedures only exacerbate fear. However, help is available. Sandra M. Pollino, MS.Ed., Psy. D., has successfully shown thousands how to overcome their apprehension and fear of flying. In Flying Fear Free: 7 Steps to Relieving Air Travel Anxiety (January 2012, New Horizon Press), Pollino uses her unique background as a counselor/psychotherapist, nurse and former flight attendant to provide a proven approach to conquering the stress and anxiety that affects fearful flyers.

Pollino explores and defines phobias associated with flight fear (claustrophobia, aerophobia, etc.) and educates readers about every aspect of the air travel industry. Then she takes the fearful flyer through seven steps using a cognitive behavior and holistic approach. Helpful exercises, checklists and techniques provide fearful flyers tools to overcome their flight anxiety. A holistic approach that uses aromatherapy, color therapy, music therapy and more works to cure flight fear on a psychological, physical, emotional and spiritual level. Pollino provides the tools for enabling the once apprehensive traveler a comfortable and fear free flight.

Flying Fear Free utilizes and instills important coping skills that other programs have left out and will successfully enable millions of fearful and tense air travelers to take control and overcome their fear of flying once and for all.
